🌙 Worship in the Last Ten Days of Ramadan
✍️ The month of Ramadan is primarily a time for spiritual purification and seeking closeness to Allah. However, the last ten days of Ramadan hold special significance for Muslims. During this period lies the blessed night of Laylatul Qadr, which is described as being better than a thousand months.
According to hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) devoted himself more intensely to worship during these final days. Aisha (RA) reported that when the last ten nights of Ramadan began, the Prophet (SAW) would tighten his waistcloth, spend the night in worship and awaken his family members to engage in prayer (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 2024).
## Spiritual Devotion and Reflection
The true beauty of worship in the final days of Ramadan is not limited to external acts of devotion but lies in deep spiritual connection with Allah. A broken heart before Allah, humility, and sincere supplication with tears draw a believer closer to the Creator.
To receive the special mercy of Allah during Ramadan, a believer must detach the heart from worldly distractions and turn sincerely toward Allah. It is a state in which the believer’s fear, hope, love, and reliance revolve solely around the Creator.
Allah says in the Holy Quran: “Remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with complete devotion.” (Surah Al-Muzzammil: 8)
The Arabic word *Tabattul* used in this verse refers to turning the heart away from temporary worldly pleasures toward the eternal connection with Allah.
Without the mercy of Allah, a servant is truly helpless. When a believer recognizes this weakness and humbly seeks forgiveness and mercy from Allah, the door to divine mercy opens.
Allah also says in the Quran: “Remember your Lord within yourself with humility and fear, without loudness in words, in the mornings and evenings, and do not be among the heedless.” (Surah Al-A’raf: 205)
The Quran warns believers not to fall into heedlessness. Even if a person makes mistakes due to the influence of Satan, a believer should immediately repent and return to Allah.
Allah says: “Turn to your Lord and submit to Him before punishment comes upon you.” (Surah Az-Zumar: 54)
Therefore, during these final ten days of Ramadan, believers should increase their acts of worship. Along with the obligatory prayers and fasting, engaging in voluntary prayers and remembrance of Allah is highly encouraged.
Waking up during the last part of the night and performing Tahajjud prayer can elevate a believer’s spiritual rank, as night worship holds special virtue in the sight of Allah.
Allah says in the Quran: “Is the one who worships during the hours of the night, prostrating and standing, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, equal to one who does not?” (Surah Az-Zumar: 9)
May Allah grant us all the ability to purify our hearts and devote ourselves sincerely during these blessed days of Ramadan. Ameen.
