A delegation shared their long-standing grievances with the Education Minister. They highlighted that the previous application process has stalled. Teachers have been working without pay for over a decade. They described their current living conditions as extremely miserable.
Teachers Protest at Secretariat for MPO Rights
The council presented three main justifications for their demands. They emphasized their legal right as recognized educational institutions. Teachers urged the government to publish the final MPO gazette soon. The delay is causing immense frustration among thousands of teachers nationwide.
After the meeting, teachers gathered in front of the Secretariat. The atmosphere became very emotional during the protest speeches. Leaders alleged that their demands are being neglected again. They stated that discussions and memorandums are no longer enough.
Intense Movement Planned After Secretariat Protest for MPO
The teachers issued a tough ultimatum to the government. They threatened to siege the Secretariat and start strikes. A delegation also went to submit a memorandum to the PM. The council wants a clear announcement before the upcoming Eid festival.
No specific assurance has come from the Ministry yet. However, the teachers vowed to continue their struggle. They will not return home without achieving their goals. The protest caused temporary traffic issues in the Secretariat area today.
