Non-MPO teachers and staff from across Bangladesh staged a human chain in front of the National Press Club demanding immediate MPO inclusion. The protest centered on the MPO demand for all eligible educational institutions.
The demonstration was organized by the “Combined Non-MPO Unity Council” on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Leaders demanded that all pending applications under the 2025–2026 fiscal year be approved.
Speakers emphasized that the MPO demand is not only financial but also a matter of dignity for teachers and staff working in non-MPO institutions.
They also urged the government to expedite approvals from technical and madrasa education divisions. According to them, failure to address the MPO demand will escalate nationwide protests.
Leaders warned that if their demands are not met by May 3, 2026, they will launch a continuous sit-in and hunger strike starting May 4 in Dhaka.
