বাংলাNational University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Abibas Technical Training Institute (OTTI) to enhance students’ professional and technical skills, align academic programmes with industry needs and expand employment opportunities.
The agreement was signed on Friday evening, August 21, at the Vice-Chancellor’s conference room at the university’s city office in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.S.M. Amanullah and Abibas Technical Training Institute Managing Director Maleka Parvin Moli signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.
Professor Dr. A.S.M. Amanullah said students need to be equipped with stronger skills. Creating opportunities to develop skills according to industry demand will help National University students demonstrate their capabilities in both domestic and international labour markets.
Under the partnership, students will have opportunities for training in Japanese language, caregiving, information technology, digital marketing, beautification and hospitality, among other areas. Students who successfully complete the training will receive certification, supporting National University student skill development.
The two institutions will also arrange internships and apprenticeships to give students practical exposure to workplaces. They will cooperate in creating potential employment opportunities, allowing students to develop practical and professional skills alongside their academic knowledge.
Joint research, seminars and workshops will also be organised on changing labour-market demands, required skills and employment. The partnership is expected to strengthen communication and cooperation between educational institutions and industry, further supporting National University student skill development and career opportunities.
