বাংলাA new payment schedule has brought a change for MPO-listed teachers and employees in Bangladesh. According to relevant sources, their monthly salaries and allowances are now being processed so that the money reaches them at the beginning of the month.
Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan had earlier pledged to address delays in salary payments after taking charge of the ministry. He said efforts would be made to ensure that MPO-listed teachers and employees receive their salaries at the beginning of each month.
On September 29, the Ministry of Education approved the proposal for September salaries and allowances for MPO-listed employees working at private schools and colleges. The salary data was subsequently sent to iBAS, with the payments expected to reach teachers and employees on October 1.
An official of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education said efforts were being made to provide salaries at the beginning of the month in line with the minister’s instructions. MPO teachers and employees had received their August salaries on September 3.
Timely payment of MPO teachers’ salaries is important for household financial planning. Receiving salaries at the beginning of the month can make it easier to manage rent, children’s education expenses, daily costs and other financial obligations.
For many teachers and employees, the earlier payment schedule represents a notable change from the previous practice of waiting until the middle or later part of the month. The implementation of the new schedule has therefore brought relief among those concerned.
