✍️ Nurul Haque Nur, president of Gono Odhikar Parishad and a BNP-backed candidate in the Patuakhali-3 (Galachipa-Dashmina) constituency, shared a photo card on his Facebook page claiming that his rival candidate Hasan Mamun had withdrawn from the election.
The photo card circulated on social media stated that Hasan Mamun, an independent candidate and expelled BNP leader, had stepped down from the race.
## Claim Denied by Rival Candidate’s Team
Attempts were made several times to contact Hasan Mamun for comment, but he could not be reached.
Later, when contacted through the inbox of his election campaign Facebook page, page administrator Niaz Mahmud said the claim was not true and confirmed that Hasan Mamun had not withdrawn from the election.
Shortly after sharing the photo card, Nurul Haque Nur deleted the post from his Facebook page.
Meanwhile, posts seeking votes were still visible on Hasan Mamun’s personal Facebook page even after midnight on Wednesday, with no indication that he had withdrawn his candidacy.
