A proposal has been raised to include additional conditions in the teacher transfer policy for private schools and colleges. The Ministry of Education and the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) are expected to discuss the matter in detail after the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
The proposal came during a meeting held at the Ministry of Education, where discussions focused on the newly developed teacher transfer software. The meeting was chaired by Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Abdul Khaleque, with the presence of Education Adviser Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon and other senior officials.
New Conditions Under Consideration
Currently, the teacher transfer policy prioritizes three main criteria: gender, distance, and seniority. However, officials are now considering adding more practical conditions to make the process more effective and fair. According to sources, the aim is to ensure a more balanced and transparent transfer system that benefits both teachers and institutions.
Officials indicated that these new conditions will be finalized after detailed discussions following Eid. The initiative is expected to improve the overall efficiency of teacher distribution across institutions.
Software Progress and Expansion of Transfer Scope
The newly developed teacher transfer software received positive feedback during the meeting. Authorities confirmed that field-level data collection will begin after Eid, which will be used to implement the transfer process effectively.
Additionally, the Education Adviser has instructed that the transfer system should be expanded to include institution heads, assistant head teachers, and MPO-listed staff. Necessary updates to the software module have been directed to Teletalk, which is responsible for its development.
Once the updates are completed and data collection is finalized, the teacher transfer process will officially begin. The new measures are expected to bring greater transparency, efficiency, and fairness to the education sector.
Overall, the proposed changes in the teacher transfer policy reflect a broader effort to modernize education administration and ensure equitable opportunities for teachers across the country.
