  • PM Tarique Rahman Fifth Primary Education Development Program will officially commence on July 1, 2026. During a parliamentary session on Wednesday, the Prime Minister announced that this five-year initiative aims to provide English language training to all remaining primary school teachers across the country, ensuring a global standard of education for the new generation.

    English Training & Blue Economy: PM Tarique Rahman Fifth Primary Education Development Program

    In response to questions from MPs, PM Tarique Rahman Fifth Primary Education Development Program was highlighted as a key tool to fulfill the government’s electoral promises. Out of the 376,489 primary teachers in Bangladesh, 130,000 have already been trained under the previous phase. The new program will cover the rest, focusing on enhancing teaching quality and pedagogical skills in English subjects.

    Addressing the development of coastal regions, the Prime Minister also discussed the PM Tarique Rahman Fifth Primary Education Development Program era’s vision for a Blue Economy. He mentioned that the government is considering establishing a formal institutional structure or a coastal-focused body by the 2026-27 fiscal year to ensure the sustainable use of marine resources and environmental protection, following the footsteps of the 2005 Coastal Zone Policy.
