Bangladesh defeated Australia by nine wickets in Darwin to secure a historic victory on Australian soil. The Bangladesh historic win came after a dominant all-round performance from the Tigers.
After dismissing Australia for 198 in the first innings, Bangladesh posted an impressive 426. Australia were then bowled out for 284 in their second innings, leaving Bangladesh with a target of just 57 runs to complete the Bangladesh historic win.
Hasan Mahmud was one of Bangladesh’s standout performers, taking a total of nine wickets in the match. Mehidy Hasan Miraz also played a crucial role with his spin, repeatedly breaking Australia’s partnerships.
Cameron Green top-scored for Australia with a fighting 104. However, Hasan Mahmud dismissed Green after his century, and Australia’s resistance soon ended when Nathan Lyon was trapped lbw.
Tanzid Hasan’s century in the first innings also played an important part in setting up the Bangladesh historic win. The combined efforts of the batting and bowling units gave Bangladesh a commanding advantage.
The four-day victory marks a major milestone for Bangladesh cricket and makes the Bangladesh historic win one of the team’s memorable Test successes overseas.
