বাংলাPakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has reached the top of the ICC T20 bowling rankings for the first time. He moved ahead of Afghanistan star Rashid Khan to become the Abrar Ahmed at the top of the latest rankings.
Abrar has 736 rating points, while Rashid has 735. The one-point margin puts Abrar Ahmed at number one. Australia’s Adam Zampa moved up to third, while England’s Adil Rashid dropped to fourth.
Notably, Abrar Ahmed reached the top despite not playing a T20 international for Pakistan for nearly seven months. Rashid’s rating fell after taking four wickets in three matches against India while conceding 9.82 runs per over.
With this achievement, Abrar Ahmed becomes the fifth Pakistani bowler to reach the top of the T20 rankings. Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Imad Wasim and Shahid Afridi previously achieved the feat.
India’s Ishan Kishan remains the top-ranked T20 batter, followed by Abhishek Sharma and Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan. England captain Harry Brook climbed five places to a career-best fourth.
No Bangladeshi player is currently in the top ten of the batting or bowling rankings. Tanzid Tamim is 17th among batters, while Nasum Ahmed is 12th among bowlers.
