Bangladesh is working to decentralize and diversify its education system so that development spreads across the country instead of remaining concentrated in the capital, said Prime Minister’s Adviser and spokesperson Mahdi Amin.
Speaking at the inauguration of the national round of the Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament 2026 at Mirpur National Bangla School and College, he highlighted the government’s vision for a more inclusive education system.
Mahdi Amin said that children, adolescents, and young people will be the driving force behind the future of Bangladesh. The government aims to build an education system where students excel not only in academics but also in sports and cultural activities.
He noted that participation in football, cricket, badminton, swimming, and other sports is being encouraged. Programs such as Scouts, Girls Guides, and BNCC will also be expanded to support holistic student development.
Students will have opportunities to learn foreign languages alongside Bangla and English, helping them become global citizens capable of contributing to society and national progress.
He further stated that sports and positive engagement can keep young people away from drugs and social misconduct, making them key builders of Bangladesh’s future.
