বাংলাBangladesh has approved a record Tk 3 lakh crore development budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year, with major focus on the education budget.
According to the approved Annual Development Programme, Tk 47,591 crore has been allocated to the education budget sector to support skill development and inclusive growth.
The government also allocated Tk 35,535 crore for health and Tk 32,691 crore for power and energy projects. However, transport and communication received the highest allocation overall.
Experts have raised concerns over the sharp increase in block allocations, warning that large unspecified funds could affect transparency and accountability in sectors including the education budget.
In addition to the main education budget, separate allocations have been proposed for primary education, technical education, and madrasa education projects.
