The Chattogram flood situation remains critical after a week of continuous heavy rainfall and flash floods. Large areas of Satkania, Lohagara, Banshkhali, and Chandanaish remain submerged, leaving nearly 800,000 people stranded.
Authorities said floodwaters continue to disrupt roads and communication networks, making relief distribution difficult. The Chattogram flood situation has forced many families to take shelter in schools and safer locations.
Local administrations are distributing dry food, drinking water, and emergency relief, but affected residents say assistance remains insufficient. Officials also warned that the Chattogram flood situation may persist as rivers are receding slowly.
District authorities estimate that nearly 188,648 families have been affected. Fisheries losses are estimated at around Tk 40 crore, while livestock damage could reach Tk 28 crore due to the ongoing Chattogram flood situation.
The weather office has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours, raising concerns that the Chattogram flood situation could worsen further.
