বাংলাPolice recovered the body of a 40-year-old Chinese citizen named Li Xingqiang from a residential hotel room in Uttara, Dhaka. He is initially suspected to have died due to excessive alcohol consumption.
The Chinese citizen’s body was recovered from room 905 of Bengal Hotel and Hospitality Limited in Sector 3 of Uttara around 9am on Saturday (September 5).
Uttara West Police Station OC Mohammad Khalid Mansur said three other Chinese citizens were staying in two separate rooms at the same hotel. They went to Li Xingqiang’s room and found him lying on the floor before informing the hotel authorities. Police later arrived and recovered the Chinese citizen’s body.
Police initially suspect that the Chinese citizen’s death may have been caused by excessive alcohol consumption. However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed after an autopsy.
The police officer also said the hotel does not have permission to sell or serve alcohol. Authorities are investigating when and why Li Xingqiang came to Dhaka and have informed the relevant authorities.
