বাংলাDhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has formed a nine-member committee to strengthen Metro Rail Safety in line with High Court directives following a safety audit of MRT Line-6.
The decision follows recommendations submitted by a safety audit committee formed after a metro rail accident in October 2025. The report outlined 28 recommendations aimed at improving Metro Rail Safety, operational reliability and structural integrity.
The High Court instructed DMTCL to implement eight short-term, 10 medium-term and 10 long-term recommendations. It also directed the authority to follow six strategic recommendations for all current and future MRT projects.
The newly formed committee will oversee implementation of the recommendations, coordinate related activities and monitor progress. Regular reports will also be submitted to the High Court. DMTCL said enhancing Metro Rail Safety remains its highest priority.
According to the agency, implementing the court’s directives and expert recommendations will make MRT Line-6 safer, more reliable and aligned with international standards, ensuring improved Metro Rail Safety for passengers.
