As the Project Director of the ‘Further Development Project-2,’ he is visiting Greece from April 13 to 19 to conduct a pre-shipment inspection of elevators manufactured by Kleemann Hellas SA for the new Social Science Faculty building.

Defending the SUST Chief Engineer Greece Visit, Vice-Chancellor Professor AM Sarwaruddin Chowdhury emphasized the sensitivity of the equipment. He cited previous issues at other universities where elevator capacity did not match specifications. “The company invited us to send an expert, and considering his experience, we sent him to ensure quality,” the VC stated, adding that the cost is minimal compared to the long-term benefit for the university.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor confirmed being informed about the SUST Chief Engineer Greece Visit but noted he was unaware if anyone else accompanied the engineer. While Chowdhury is abroad, Executive Engineer Badhan Chandra Das will oversee the project responsibilities. This foreign tour under the UGC-funded project has drawn attention to how university development funds are utilized for technical inspections overseas.
