The Habiganj district administration has withdrawn Section 144 Withdrawn in Habiganj after the overall law and order situation in the municipal area returned to normal.
Section 144 Withdrawn in Habiganj
According to an official order issued by District Magistrate Dr. G.M. Sarfaraz, Section 144 in Habiganj had been imposed on July 29 to prevent possible unrest and maintain public order.
Authorities said the latest report from law enforcement agencies confirmed that the security situation is now stable. As there is no longer any threat to public peace or safety, the administration decided to withdraw Section 144 in Habiganj.
The restriction was imposed following tensions over rival political programs by the National Citizen Party (NCP) and the BNP with its affiliated organizations. NCP leaders were stopped outside the town due to police barricades while the order remained in force.
Officials believe lifting Section 144 in Habiganj will help restore normal public activities and administrative operations across the municipality.
