বাংলাPolice recovered the body of Sohel Rana Babu, 35, from a room at Kapotakkho Hotel on Khan Jahan Ali Road in Khulna. The Khulna hotel room death was reported early Monday, September 21.
Police identified the deceased as a resident of the Harintana Auto Stand area under Lobonchora Police Station. His alleged wife, Fateema, 25, was arrested in connection with the incident.
According to police and hotel authorities, Fateema and Sohel checked into the hotel at around 9pm Saturday, identifying themselves as husband and wife. Around 2:30am Monday, Fateema left the room and asked hotel staff to call the owner before reportedly telling them that her husband had been killed.
Hotel authorities contacted the national emergency service 999 at 3:09am. Police then arrived, recovered the body and took Fateema into custody. The Khulna hotel room death case is being investigated.
Police said the body was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. A regular case will be filed, while investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the Khulna hotel room death.
The arrested woman has reportedly confessed to the killing, according to the officer-in-charge of Khulna Police Station. Further legal proceedings are expected as the investigation into the Khulna hotel room death continues.
