বাংলাPolice have detained a 45-year-old man in Sarishabari, Jamalpur, following allegations of sexual abuse involving a child. He was detained from the Hajibari Mor area of Mahadan Union on Tuesday night, August 18.
According to police and the child’s family, the family members were attending a local mediation meeting near their home on August 16, leaving the house empty. The accused allegedly entered the house and committed child abuse.
The child later informed her parents after experiencing physical discomfort. The family then informed local community members, who questioned the accused before notifying police.
Sarishabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Iqbal Hossain said a complaint was filed by the family and police subsequently detained the accused. A case is now being processed over the allegations of child abuse.
Police said the child was scheduled to be taken to a hospital on Wednesday morning for a medical examination. Authorities are continuing the investigation into the child abuse allegation.
The child’s identity and sensitive details have not been disclosed to protect her privacy. Further facts will become clear as the investigation progresses.
