বাংলাThe Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic Division has filed 1,730 cases for traffic law violations across the capital. During the drive, 589 vehicles were dumped and 348 vehicles were towed. The figures were disclosed by DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division. The DMP traffic drive was conducted to enforce traffic laws in different areas of Dhaka.
According to officials, 136 cases were filed in Ramna, 141 in Lalbagh, 307 in Motijheel, 152 in Wari, 174 in Tejgaon, 354 in Mirpur, 262 in Uttara and 204 in Gulshan. The DMP traffic drive targeted different types of vehicles found violating traffic regulations.
Mirpur recorded the highest number of cases with 354, followed by Motijheel with 307, Uttara with 262 and Gulshan with 204 cases. Cases were also filed against buses, trucks, covered vans, CNG-powered vehicles and motorcycles.
Authorities said the operation covered various categories of vehicles and enforcement measures were taken against traffic violators. The DMP traffic drive aims to maintain discipline and improve traffic management across the capital.
DMP official Niaz Mehedi said such operations will continue in different parts of Dhaka to ensure traffic discipline. The DMP traffic drive is expected to remain part of the city’s ongoing traffic enforcement efforts.
