  • Police have recovered the body of an unidentified woman from beneath the soil of a farmland in Barura upazila of Cumilla. The body was recovered on Tuesday morning, September 8, from farmland in Odda village under Chitadda Union.

Barura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nazmul Haque confirmed the incident. Police reached the site after local workers reported finding a body buried beneath the soil and took it to the police station.

Local residents said several workers were working in the field in the morning when they noticed the buried body. They subsequently informed the police, who arrived at the location and recovered it.

Police said the identity of the deceased woman has not yet been established. Investigators initially suspect that she may have been killed elsewhere and that the body was later buried in the farmland in an attempt to conceal the incident. However, the exact circumstances remain under investigation.

The officer-in-charge said police are working to identify the woman and determine what happened. The exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy report is received.

In the Barura woman body recovery case, the body has been sent to the morgue of Cumilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Police are continuing their investigation to identify the deceased and uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
