The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the gold price in the local market. The revised prices became effective from 10:00 AM on Wednesday.
According to the new price list, the gold price for 22-carat jewellery is now Tk 220,858 per bhori (11.664 grams), a reduction of Tk 2,216 from the previous rate.
The gold price for 21-carat jewellery has been set at Tk 210,943 per bhori, while 18-carat gold costs Tk 181,200 per bhori. Traditional gold is priced at Tk 148,016 per bhori.
Silver prices have also declined. A bhori of 22-carat silver now costs Tk 4,607, while 21-carat, 18-carat, and traditional silver are priced at Tk 4,374, Tk 3,791, and Tk 2,858 respectively.
BAJUS said the revised gold price was determined considering the international market and local conditions, allowing consumers to purchase gold and silver at lower prices.
