বাংলাJamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General and 11-party alliance coordinator H M Hamidur Rahman Azad has urged the government to accept public demands before a major public outburst. He said Bangladesh is currently facing growing public frustration.
He made the remarks as a special guest at the final rally of the 11-party alliance’s Dhaka-Chattogram long march at historic Laldighi Maidan in Chattogram on Saturday (September 5) night.
Speaking about the gas crisis, Hamidur Rahman Azad said the government’s claim that there is no gas crisis does not match the reality. He also criticized the authorities for failing to resolve the crisis despite an earlier promise.
Raising concerns over agriculture, fuel and electricity, he said continued shortages of fuel and fertilizer could disrupt agricultural production. He also claimed that some industries are being affected by electricity and gas shortages.
Hamidur Rahman Azad also called for an end to corruption, land grabbing, extortion and human rights violations. He urged the government to address public demands before public anger grows further.
