বাংলাNaogaon city has come under the coverage of 64 AI cameras installed at important points across the city. The AI-connected Digital Surveillance and Cyber Lab was inaugurated on Saturday (September 5) at the district police superintendent’s office.
According to district police sources, the AI cameras will be monitored 24 hours a day through a central monitoring system. The cameras are equipped with AI-based face detection and recognition technology for real-time alerts and identification.
The AI cameras will also identify and record vehicle number plates, track suspected stolen vehicles and integrate with real-time databases. Suspicious individuals can also be quickly identified and added to a warning list.
Naogaon Police Superintendent Mohammad Tarikul Islam said the AI cameras have initially been installed at 64 important points. He said the technology would help police identify criminals more quickly, with plans to install more cameras in other parts of the city.
Rajshahi Range DIG Mohammad Ashik Saeed said Naogaon became the first district in Bangladesh to come under AI camera coverage. MP Zahidul Islam Dhallu said the cameras would also play an important role in traffic control across the city.
