The government has increased fuel prices in Bangladesh in line with global market trends, raising the cost of major petroleum products.
According to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, the revised fuel prices will come into effect from April 19 nationwide.
Under the new rates, octane is priced at 140 taka per liter and petrol at 135 taka. Diesel has been set at 115 taka per liter, while kerosene now costs 130 taka.
Previously, fuel prices were lower, with octane at 120 taka, petrol at 116 taka, diesel at 100 taka, and kerosene at 112 taka per liter.
The government stated that the fuel prices adjustment reflects rising costs in the international energy market and aims to maintain supply stability.
