Fuel Pass App services have been expanded to seven filling stations in Dhaka from today, Sunday (April 12, 2026). The Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) introduced this QR code-based system to ensure transparency in fuel distribution and to reduce the long queues at petrol pumps for motorcyclists.
Registration Process and Benefits of the Fuel Pass App
To access petrol and octane, users must register via the Fuel Pass App using their vehicle registration, NID, and driving license. The Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources stated that this digital system is linked with the BRTA database to prevent the artificial fuel crisis caused by hoarding. Currently, five new pumps have been added to the previous two, making the digital service available at major spots like Tejgaon, Mahakhali, and Shahbagh.
Using the Fuel Pass App allows for real-time monitoring of fuel supply and minimizes waste or corruption at the dealer level. Motorcyclists simply need to scan their QR code at the station to receive their pre-allocated fuel amount. Non-smartphone users can also participate by downloading a printed QR code from the official website. This automation is a significant step toward a ‘Smart Bangladesh’ in the energy sector.
