When Bhobotosh Mridha woke up and tried to resist, the attackers assaulted him with sharp weapons. His wife was also injured while trying to stop them. Doctors later declared him dead at the hospital.
Police said incidents of burglary by cutting through walls have increased in the area in recent months. Residents fear that organized gangs are involved in the Koira murder and related crimes.
Authorities confirmed that investigations are underway to identify and arrest those responsible for the Koira murder case.
