According to Pakistan’s information ministry, the strikes targeted militant positions and a training center for suicide attackers. Taliban officials, meanwhile, said the strikes killed three civilians and wounded four others in Kunar province. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid condemned the attacks and said Afghanistan would give an “appropriate response.”
Afghan officials said a house in Kunar’s Nurgal district was hit, killing three members of the same family. They also reported strikes in Barmal district of Paktika, where a house and a shop were damaged without reported casualties.

Islamabad has repeatedly accused militant groups based in Afghanistan of carrying out attacks inside Pakistan, while the Taliban-led Afghan government has rejected the accusation that it allows its territory to be used for such attacks.
The strikes followed recent deadly attacks against Pakistani security forces and police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Pakistani officials have blamed militant groups operating from Afghan territory for some of the violence.
