বাংলাA well-marked low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas has intensified into a monsoon depression. It is currently positioned over southwestern Bangladesh, the West Bengal coast and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said the Bay of Bengal low pressure system may move further northwest. Strong winds may affect the sea ports, northern Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra sea ports have been advised to keep local warning signal No. 3 hoisted. The Bay of Bengal low pressure has prompted increased caution along coastal areas.
Fishing boats and trawlers in the northern Bay of Bengal have also been advised to remain close to the coast and operate cautiously until further notice. Mariners are urged to follow the latest weather updates as the Bay of Bengal low pressure system develops.
