বাংলাA man allegedly killed his father-in-law following a family dispute in Kaliganj, Gazipur, and surrendered at the police station about 17 hours after the incident.
The victim, 65-year-old Majid Morol, was attacked at Jamalpur Bazar near the Shitalakshya River around 5pm on Friday. He was later taken to a local hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The father-in-law murder has sparked concern in the area.
According to locals, the accused, Mozammel Hossain Moza, had married the victim’s daughter several years ago. His wife had returned to her parents’ home seven days earlier following a family dispute.
The victim’s son alleged that his brother-in-law attacked their father after being asked to resolve the dispute and take his wife back home. A local union council chairman also confirmed the father-in-law murder incident.
Police said the accused surrendered at Kaliganj Police Station at 10:28am on Saturday. Further legal action over the father-in-law murder is underway.
