Addressing the Online Class Controversy, he pointed out that while statistics suggest 72% of households have smartphones, at least 30% to 40% of homes in over 80,000 villages still lack these devices. He argued that implementing such a policy without addressing the digital divide is an injustice to rural students.
The academic also highlighted the lack of professional training among teachers for digital pedagogy. “Taking an online class is not easy; many aspects need to be recalibrated,” he stated.
