Habibul Bashar appointed chief selector after selection process
The BCB completed the application process on March 8. A total of 16 former cricketers applied for the selector roles. After interviews, the board selected Habibul Bashar for the top position.
He brings experience from his previous role as assistant selector. He also served as captain of the national team. Therefore, the board expects strong leadership from him.
Meanwhile, the assistant selector role saw close competition. Tushar Imran and Naim Islam were both considered. However, the board finalized Naim Islam for the role.
Naim Islam joins selection panel as assistant selector
Naim Islam will begin his journey as assistant selector soon. The board has not announced the decision officially yet. However, multiple sources confirmed the appointment.
Four BCB directors handled the selection process. They are Faruque Ahmed, Khaled Mashud Pilot, Nazmul Abedin Fahim, and Abdur Razzak. They reviewed applications and conducted interviews carefully.
Habibul Bashar is expected to receive a monthly salary of 4 lakh taka. Naim Islam may earn around 3 lakh taka monthly. The same salary may apply to current assistant selector Hasibul Islam Shanto.
At the same time, the tenure of current chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu is ending. His term will conclude this month. He already bid farewell to players after the Pakistan series win.
