বাংলাA three-month Cox’s Bazar Tourism Carnival 2026 is set to be held for the first time at the country’s leading tourist destination to attract both domestic and international visitors. The event will run from November 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027, at the expansive area near Hotel Shaibal, the beach and the jhau forest.
Organized by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation and managed by Spellbound Communications Limited, the Cox’s Bazar Tourism Carnival will offer visitors a mix of entertainment, sports, food, cultural activities, adventure and family-oriented programs during both daytime and nighttime.
The details were announced at a media briefing held at the Tourism Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Wednesday (October 7). Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Chairman Md. Shamimuzzaman shared information about the initiative.
According to the organizers, the number of domestic tourists visiting Cox’s Bazar has been increasing, while the growth in international visitors has not been as expected. Limited entertainment options after enjoying the beach, particularly in the evening, have also been identified as a concern. The carnival has therefore been planned with a wide range of day-and-night activities.
The event will feature a food zone, market zone and craft village, wellness zone, kids zone and camping zone. The food zone will offer local and international cuisine, live food stalls, barbecue, ice cream and juice. The market zone and craft village will showcase clothing, jewelry, pottery and handmade products from local artisans.
The wellness zone will offer yoga and meditation sessions around sunrise. The kids zone will include art activities, safe rides and other entertainment options for children. The camping zone is planned to include overnight camping, an open-sky library, self-barbecue facilities, hammocks, a campfire and opportunities to observe the night sky through telescopes.
Other attractions will include live art and a photo gallery, an open-sky movie theater, a VR zone, a circus tent, kayaking, live busking, go-karting, beach football, beach handball, beach volleyball, beach kabaddi, badminton and sand sculpture activities.
Special programs will also be arranged for Victory Day, Christmas and New Year. A musical event titled ‘Wave of Music’ will be held at the Beach View Open Theatre, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy music against the backdrop of the sea and sunset.
Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Chairman Md. Shamimuzzaman said the Cox’s Bazar Tourism Carnival is being organized to present Cox’s Bazar to domestic and international tourists in a more diverse and attractive way. He said one of the goals is to showcase the destination in a new way to international visitors and increase their numbers.
The organizers expect the three-month event to give tourists opportunities to enjoy the sea while also taking part in sports and entertainment activities during the day and at night. The initiative is also expected to contribute to local employment and economic activity.
The chairman said the carnival is intended to rebrand Cox’s Bazar as a vibrant, diverse, safe, sustainable and international-standard tourism destination. The initiative aims to add new dimensions to the visitor experience while highlighting the broader tourism potential of Cox’s Bazar.
