Nayapaltan Hub: BNP Nomination Process Targets Dedicated Leaders
On Friday (April 10, 2026), the BNP Nomination drive for reserved women’s seats kicked off with high enthusiasm. Senior Joint Secretary General and Industrial/Political Advisor Ruhul Kabir Rizvi inaugurated the event at the party’s headquarters. Interested candidates have until April 12 to collect and submit their forms. Each form is priced at BDT 2,000, with a security deposit of BDT 50,000 required upon submission. Large crowds of female activists and local leaders gathered at Nayapaltan to participate in the democratic process of the party.
During the inaugural speech, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi emphasized that the BNP Nomination board would prioritize those who faced systemic oppression and imprisonment during the previous Awami League regime. “Our female leaders have shown immense courage during the years of torture and political marginalization. It is now time for the party to recognize their sacrifices by giving them a voice in the national parliament,” Rizvi stated. He urged all applicants to maintain party discipline throughout the selection process.
Key Criteria: Role in July Movement and Competency
The selection process for the BNP Nomination has been refined to ensure quality representation. Candidates will be evaluated based on their active participation in the July 2024 Mass Uprising, educational background, and political experience. Furthermore, the ability to articulate public grievances effectively in Parliament will be a crucial deciding factor. The BNP leadership aims to form a strong legislative group of women who can contribute to the rebuilding of democratic institutions in the country.
