বাংলাSaudi Arabia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Engineer Waleed Abdul Karim Al-Khuraiji met Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Khalilur Rahman and Home Affairs Adviser Salahuddin Ahmed in Dhaka on Tuesday. The Bangladesh-Saudi meeting began at the State Guest House Padma.
Officials said the Bangladesh-Saudi meeting is focusing on strengthening bilateral relations, labor cooperation, diplomatic ties and other issues of mutual interest between the two countries.
Sources also indicated that Saudi Arabia may raise the issue of granting citizenship to Rohingya refugees currently residing in the Kingdom. The matter is expected to be discussed during the Bangladesh-Saudi meeting.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam and Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Chief Adviser Humayun Kabir also attended the meeting. During his visit, Al-Khuraiji is also scheduled to meet Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Adviser Ariful Haque Chowdhury.
The Bangladesh-Saudi meeting is seen as an important step toward enhancing cooperation and addressing key regional and bilateral issues between the two friendly nations.
