বাংলাA court in Sirajganj has issued an Amir Hamza arrest warrant against Member of Parliament Mufti Amir Hamza in a defamation case.
The warrant was issued after allegations that he made controversial remarks about State Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, calling him an atheist and anti-Islamic figure.
The case was filed on April 2 by Advocate Humayun Kabir Kornel, General Secretary of the District Bar Association.
Earlier, the court summoned Hamza to appear on April 19. However, due to his absence, the court proceeded with issuing the Amir Hamza arrest warrant.
Legal experts suggest that failure to comply with court summons often leads to such actions, and further legal proceedings will follow upon his appearance.
