Belal Says He Ranked First in Social Welfare
Abdullah Al Mamun Belal said he ranked first in Social Welfare under the General Education Cadre. After his name was missing from the gazette, he raised questions in a Facebook post about the reason for the decision.
In his post, Belal wrote that he had been active during July and questioned whether that was the reason his name was left out. He also said he could not understand what his alleged offence was.
Belal was also involved with debating activities at the University of Dhaka. He questioned whether that involvement was his offence and said that Allah is the best judge.
57 Candidates Left Out of Gazette
The PSC said it was unable to nominate candidates for 15 posts because suitable candidates were not found. After subsequent verification and other procedures, appointments for 611 candidates were published in the final gazette.
PSC Public Relations Officer SM Matiur Rahman said the PSC is the recommending authority, while the Ministry of Public Administration is the appointing authority. He said the ministry’s decision after completing the verification process is final regarding appointments.
