🏛️ No One Should Comment Beyond Their Responsibility: Prime Minister
✍️ BNP Chairperson and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has advised ministers and members of parliament not to make comments beyond their assigned responsibilities. He also urged them to remain cautious while speaking to the media and maintain politeness in their conduct.
He made these remarks on Wednesday during the first meeting of the BNP parliamentary party held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, chaired by him as the Leader of the House.
In his speech, the Prime Minister provided guidance to ministers and MPs regarding various public welfare initiatives taken by the BNP and outlined plans for the coming days.
Referring to the party’s election pledge, the “Family Card” program, he said many people had criticized the initiative. However, he emphasized that the government had already started implementing the promise even before the ink mark from voting had faded.
He also announced that along with implementing the Family Card program quickly, the government will launch a nationwide canal excavation program. He warned everyone to take necessary measures for cleanliness ahead of the dengue season.
Mentioning the July National Charter, the Prime Minister said that some parties had expressed notes of dissent on certain issues, and the government would move forward with implementing the feasible ones.
During the meeting, the responsibility for selecting the new Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Parliament was entrusted to Tarique Rahman. The election for these positions is expected to take place at the beginning of the 13th parliamentary session on Thursday. Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni delivered the welcome speech, while BNP Secretary General and Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed also spoke. A total of 209 BNP MPs attended the meeting.
