বাংলাUS Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has warned that the United States will attack Iran’s oil tankers if Iran attacks American ships. He said Iran should avoid attacking US vessels.
On Saturday (September 5), the United States reportedly attacked three Iranian oil tankers. The US Central Command said Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard had attacked two American warships, prompting the strikes on Iranian oil tankers in response.
Hegseth warned that the United States would target Iran’s oil tankers if American ships came under attack. He also claimed that the Iranian oil tanker fleet is vulnerable and that US aircraft, warships and submarines could strike the vessels.
CENTCOM said two tankers, MT Douni near Kharg Island and MT Stark 1 near Jask, were attacked. According to the command, both Iranian oil tankers were left permanently disabled following the attacks.
A third tanker, MT Kylo, located in the Gulf of Oman, was also attacked. CENTCOM said the crew members were given several minutes to leave before parts of the tanker were targeted, leaving the vessel unable to operate.
