Police recovered the body of a man from a rented apartment linked to a student of Daffodil International University in Savar. The Savar murder incident has sparked concern in the area.
The deceased, Abdul Mannan, 40, was found inside the bathroom of the flat on Tuesday night. Police said the victim had injury marks from a sharp weapon, indicating a possible Savar murder.
Locals alleged that drug use regularly took place inside the apartment and the victim was involved in drug dealing. Investigators suspect a financial dispute may have triggered the Savar murder.
According to the landlord, several young men were seen entering the flat on the night of the incident. Later, the body was discovered in the bathroom, and police were informed immediately.
Police stated that the apartment had been rented by a Daffodil University student named Fahim about a month ago. He has reportedly gone into hiding since the Savar murder occurred.
Authorities are continuing the investigation into the Savar murder, while the body has been sent for autopsy.
