U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday (March 31, 2026) that the ongoing war against Iran is “coming to an end” and could be wrapped up within the next two to three weeks. Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump stated that Iran does not necessarily need to sign a formal deal, as the U.S. military has already achieved its primary goal: ensuring Tehran cannot obtain a nuclear weapon for years to come.
Uranium Stockpiles and Strategic Goals
Addressing concerns about Iran’s enriched uranium, Trump dismissed the threat, noting that the stockpiles are deeply buried and currently inaccessible. “It’s possible we’ll have a deal, but it’s irrelevant now,” Trump remarked, adding that the U.S. has already enacted “regime change” by eliminating dozens of top radical leaders, even though the state infrastructure remains.
Netanyahu’s “10 Plagues” Against the Terror Axis
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu echoed the sentiment of victory, claiming that Israel has “smashed” Iran’s industrial capability to produce nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. In a video statement, he referenced the upcoming Passover holiday, stating that Israel has hit Iran and its proxies with “10 Plagues,” targeting nuclear sites, missile programs, infrastructure, and senior leadership across Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen.
Ceasefire Initiatives
Amidst the military escalation, China and Pakistan have unveiled a five-point truce plan calling for an immediate ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Reports suggest the White House does not oppose this initiative, as Trump prepares to address the nation on Wednesday night regarding the war’s conclusion.
