বাংলাPrime Minister Tarique Rahman stated that Farmer and Family Cards will not cause inflation. Instead, these initiatives will make the national economy more active and stable. He shared this during a National Parliament session on Wednesday. Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram presided over the session.
The PM was responding to a question from MP Aktar Hossain of Rangpur-4. He emphasized that the government is not printing new money for these cards. Therefore, there is no risk of increasing the inflation rate in Bangladesh. The funds will be distributed gradually through every national budget.
More women will receive Family Cards, and more men will get Farmer Cards. It is impossible to cover everyone at once, but coverage will expand monthly. The Prime Minister noted that marginal groups will spend this money locally. This will significantly strengthen the rural economy and increase cash flow.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman explained that women might spend the money on education. They could also start small businesses or buy essential food items for families. This spending will boost sales for local grocery shops and create new jobs. Local industries will also benefit as 80 percent of people use local products.
The Prime Minister believes that these initiatives will show results within a few years. While immediate changes might not be visible, long-term progress is guaranteed. The living standards of marginal people will significantly improve in three to five years. The government remains committed to empowering the local economy.
