Speaking on Sunday (April 12, 2026), at the DSCC Nagar Bhaban, the minister emphasized the importance of this month-long emergency drive to protect children from this fatal disease.
Drive for Health: Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign Coverage
The minister noted that the Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign aims to vaccinate every child aged 6 to 59 months. After starting in 30 upazilas across 18 districts, the campaign has now expanded to four major city corporations, including Dhaka North, South, Mymensingh, and Barishal. Health officials have been instructed to ensure the program reaches every neighborhood and lane to achieve 100% coverage.
While the Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign is underway, the Minister also warned about the upcoming Dengue challenge. He urged authorities to ensure the quality of mosquito repellents to prevent an outbreak. DSCC sources confirmed that 540 centers have been established to vaccinate over 4 lakh children. DGHS Director General Prof. Dr. Prabhat Chandra Biswas added that special isolation units have been prepared in all government hospitals to manage the current situation effectively.
