The Movement Has Begun across the country, and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has called on the people to lead it toward success. Speaking at a seminar organized by the 11-party alliance in Dhaka on Monday (April 13, 2026), he criticized the government’s stance on the referendum and the ongoing political crisis. He emphasized that the struggle for people’s rights will continue both in the parliament and on the streets.
Resistance Against Fascism: The Movement Has Begun
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman remarked that The Movement Has Begun as a collective aspiration for change, fueled by the sacrifices of over 1,400 martyrs. He noted that the majority of those who laid down their lives were workers and students fighting against fascist shadows. Despite attempts to silence their voices in the parliament, he asserted that their commitment to speaking for the people remains unshaken.
Warning the ruling side, the Jamaat Ameer stated that the generation born out of the July war does not fear intimidation. Since The Movement Has Begun, any attempt to suppress it will be met with resistance. The seminar, presided over by Maulana Mamunul Haque, also featured prominent leaders like opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam and LDP Chairman Dr. Oli Ahmad, who echoed the need for national unity.
