Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that the Strait of Hormuz closed again amid rising tensions with the United States.
According to a statement broadcast on state media, the move comes in response to continued US pressure and alleged interference with Iranian shipping and so IRGC Closes Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC stated that the Strait of Hormuz closed status means strict military monitoring and full control by Iranian armed forces.
Officials warned that the Strait of Hormuz closed condition will remain until Iran’s maritime rights are fully restored.
As nearly 20% of global oil passes through this route, the Strait of Hormuz closed announcement has heightened concerns over global energy supply and regional stability.
