বাংলা⚡ Bangladesh Seeks Energy Support from India
✍️ The Bangladesh government has sent a letter to India seeking energy assistance amid the ongoing situation caused by the war in the Middle East.
The information was confirmed on Wednesday by Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma after a meeting with Bangladesh’s Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Iqbal Hassan Mahmood Tuku, at the Secretariat.
Responding to questions from journalists, the Indian envoy said that he had received an official letter from the Bangladesh government requesting additional assistance. He added that the letter would be forwarded to the relevant authorities for prompt consideration.
Speaking about the meeting, he said that India and Bangladesh share a strong partnership in the power and energy sector, which is a key component of their economic cooperation.
He also noted that cross-border electricity transmission lines and pipelines are currently operational between the two countries, and discussions were held on how to further strengthen this cooperation.
