বাংলাNepal is carrying out a large-scale rescue operation following floods and natural disasters across several areas. Prime Minister Balendra Shah said 4,451 people have so far been rescued from difficult and affected locations. The Nepal flood rescue operation involves the army, police and armed police personnel.
According to the prime minister, a total of 15,431 security personnel are actively participating in the rescue effort. Operations are underway in affected areas including the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli corridors. Among those rescued were 191 workers who had been trapped inside a hydropower plant tunnel.
Sixteen helicopters operated by the air force and private sector have been deployed for the rescue effort, completing 99 successful flights. Authorities have also rescued and identified 129 foreign tourists who were stranded. The Nepal flood rescue operation is continuing alongside relief distribution.
Efforts are also underway to restore communications and infrastructure. The Kathmandu-Mugling highway has been reopened and alternative routes have been prepared. Nepal has requested 10 Bailey bridges from India and China for temporary connectivity.
A disaster relief fund received 1.9 billion Nepalese rupees within 36 hours, with the prime minister and ministers donating one month’s salary. Medical supplies, drinking water and essential relief goods are being delivered, while restoration of telecommunications and electricity is progressing. The Nepal flood rescue effort remains ongoing.
