বাংলাHome Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said the Bangladesh Police are not the muscle of any political party or group. He described the force as professional, technology-driven, people-friendly, and committed to a zero-tolerance policy against corruption.
He made the remarks while addressing the graduation parade of the 27th BCS Police probationary Assistant Superintendents at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah, Rajshahi.
The minister urged the new officers to develop expertise in combating digital crimes and strengthening cyber security so they can serve as trusted friends of the public. He said the Bangladesh Police must remain free from political influence.
Ahmed also noted that the police force had suffered during the previous government’s tenure and stressed that citizens seeking public services should never face harassment.
A total of 58 probationary Assistant Superintendents who began their six-month training on February 1, 2026, officially entered active service after completing the programme. Awards were presented to outstanding trainees during the ceremony.
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, Inspector General of Police Ali Hossain Fakir, and Police Academy Principal Additional IGP GM Azizur Rahman also attended the event, emphasizing the importance of building a modern and accountable Bangladesh Police.
