বাংলাA man identified as Sajib Sarkar (40) died after being struck by lightning while traveling on the roof of a train in Narsingdi. The train roof lightning incident occurred near the Ghorashal railway bridge.
According to railway police, the Upakul Express train from Dhaka to Noakhali was crossing the bridge when heavy rain and lightning suddenly began. Sajib, who was illegally traveling on the roof, became a victim of the train roof lightning strike and died on the spot.
Police later recovered the body from the train roof after it reached Narsingdi railway station. Authorities contacted the family using his mobile phone and national ID card.
Witnesses also claimed another passenger fell from the roof during the panic created by the train roof lightning incident, though police have not confirmed the report yet.
Railway police stated that the body will be handed over to the family after legal procedures are completed. The train roof lightning tragedy has renewed concerns over risky train travel.
