The government of Bangladesh has decided to observe two new national days annually: Rural Development Day on July 6 and Revolution and Solidarity Day on November 7. The announcement was made following a cabinet meeting, introducing the new national days policy.
Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani stated that July 6 will be observed as Rural Development Day without a public holiday, while November 7 will be observed as Revolution and Solidarity Day with an official holiday.
The decision regarding these new national days has sparked discussion at the national level.
The cabinet also discussed the Renewable Energy Policy 2025, targeting 10,000 megawatts of solar power generation by 2030.
Officials also noted that the government is working to manage energy challenges arising from the ongoing Middle East conflict, alongside the introduction of these new national days.
